Our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) Tax team is structured in a unique way – we focus on providing the full spectrum of tax services to private equity, across funds, deals, and portfolio companies on a wide scope of transactional work both domestically and internationally.
We are leading advisers to mid-market private equity firms and large acquisitive corporates with deal values ranging from a few million to over a billion. We support our clients throughout the entire deal lifecycle, from initial proposal and offer terms to due diligence, acquisition structuring, and post-deal advice.
We work across various sectors – technology, gaming, care homes, art galleries, travel, and retail. This environment is fast-moving and exciting, emphasizing technical expertise and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Role Overview
As Associate Director in the TAS Tax team, you will provide tax structuring advice and conduct tax due diligence on buy-side and sell-side transactions for private equity and corporate clients. You may also work on public company transactions, mainly on AIM and the London Stock Exchange Main Market.
If you enjoy diverse projects and sectors, this role is suitable. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Leading discussions with clients, legal advisers, and managing relationships with target management teams.
2. Collaborating with FDD and SPA Advisory teams to ensure cohesive work across departments.
3. Leading due diligence meetings, overseeing analysis, and reviewing reports for accuracy and robustness.
4. Preparing and reviewing structuring reports, considering key tax implications aligned with transaction goals.
5. Reviewing forecast models, fund flows, and legal documentation with support from the team.
6. Building internal networks to identify opportunities across TAS, Corporate Finance, and international offices.
7. Engaging with external contacts in private equity, law firms, and intermediaries for business development.
8. Researching and preparing proposals to attract new clients and participating in presentations.
9. Managing project budgets, billing, and collection processes.
10. Producing technical research using legislation and guidance from tax authorities.
11. Training and developing team members.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a qualified chartered accountant or tax adviser (ACA, CA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent) with a solid understanding of UK tax practices. Additional skills include:
1. Experience in UK corporation tax compliance and M&A.
2. Knowledge of transfer pricing, R&D, VAT, employment taxes, stamp duty, and share transactions.
3. Proven client handling and project management experience.
4. Ability to advise on technical tax issues.
5. Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint for preparing documentation.
