We are looking to recruit a Porter to join the portering team at University Hospital Wishaw!
The Porter will carry out planned and reactive tasks, involving the movement of patients and a range of goods and equipment. The Porter will carry these tasks out efficiently and effectively, ensuring the safety and consideration of patients, staff, visitors, and all users of NHS Lanarkshire services are adhered to.
The successful candidate will control car parks across the site identifying and taking action identified by NHS Lanarkshire e.g., stickering unauthorised/inappropriately parked vehicles.
The post holder will work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

What we'll need you to bring
* Undertake on-the-job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked), to achieve full competency across a range of duties.
* Undertake Prevention, Assessment & Management of Violence & Aggression (PaMOVA) training level 1 and 2
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
* Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) Standards
* Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
* Undertake and complete NHSS Portering Services Workbook.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
