The job itself
If you have experience managing a children’s residential service and are looking for a new opportunity to help shape the lives of some of our most vulnerable children, our Area Manager role could be the next step in your career.
East Riding Council currently has 4 registered children’s homes in operation, all rated Good with Ofsted. A further 3 are scheduled to open in the coming months, and more in 2025. Reporting to the Head of Service (Responsible Individual), the Area Manager leads by delivering strategic direction of these 1, 2 and 4 bedded homes which are designed to deliver bespoke care for some of our most vulnerable young people. Each home is managed by a registered children’s home manager who will report directly to the area manager and manage the day-to-day operations and care delivery.
The development of our small cluster of children’s homes has proven to be greatly successful and helped us provide stability and support for the lives of our young people to remain in their own community of East Riding. The Area Manager would play a leading role as we expand our portfolio of residential estates and open a bespoke SEND children looked after home.
This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for working with children and experience managing budgets and large teams at a service manager level, with excellent knowledge of the Care Standards Act 2000 and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015. It’s an excellent time to join the team during our expansion where you can help shape our offer.
In return we offer:
* A range of staff benefits.
* A strong values-based supportive model of working.
* A supportive and developing culture.
* Hybrid working options.
* An opportunity to build on our successful portfolio.
