SLH are partnering our client a a leading manufacture of high quality domestic and commercial utensils who are looking to appoint a warehouse assistant on a temporary contract until Christmas with the potential of a permanent position should the opportunity arise.
Duties would consist of the following:
complete customer deliveries in accordance with the daily despatch schedule by processing and despatching orders in an accurate and timely manner.
To assist in receiving and putting away bulk deliveries from suppliers. To pack product into its finished format ready for sale.
Key responsibilities/Duties:
* Picking, packing and staging orders ready for delivery
* Following special instructions in relation to an order
Picking and building works orders ready for customer delivery
* Inspecting in compliance with company standards
* Packing in compliance with company standards including labelling and shrink wrapping
* The replenishment of pick faces
* Loading despatch vehicles
* Unload delivery vehicles, palletise safely and put away in bulk locations
* Operate within company procedures and safe systems of work
* Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
* Move waste to designated disposal areas
* Ensure compliance with manual handling best practice
* Inspect product in accordance with company quality procedures
* Report quality matters with immediate effect
You will require the following:
* Experience of working in a Warehouse environment
* Capable of standing / walking for the duration of an 8 hour shift
* Capable of lifting / carrying / manoeuvring heavy items
* Team Player
* Flexible and willing approach.
* Positive outlook and one who enjoys working as part of a team
* Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
* Full Driving UK license
