We are looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teachers to join various schools around Norfolk. The successful candidate will work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that enables all learners to achieve their full potential. This role is for March 2025.
Duties as a SEN Teacher:
* Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, SEMH, and complex learning needs.
* Develop and implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in collaboration with the SENCO, parents, and external specialists.
* Use a range of teaching strategies and interventions to support individual learning needs.
* Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement.
* Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting confidence and independence.
* Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide a holistic approach to learning.
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Ideal SEN Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience working with children with SEN in a school or specialist setting.
* A strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies and behaviour management techniques.
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with additional needs.
* Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, TEACCH, or other specialist communication methods (desirable).
* A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
