Spinwell is recruiting for a Software Asset Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SOFTWARE ASSET MANAGER
* Create, manage and curate a centralised master application catalogue, detailing all software currently in use.
* Act as a point of contact for all information relating to what software exists within the business and licensing queries
* Engage with stakeholders, in order to ensure process effectiveness and compliance
* Work closely with all departmental stakeholders including Procurement, IT, and Security to understand and track licensing models and renewal dates.
* Work with Jira Service Manager (JSM) and Insight/Asset tooling to help manage usage, versioning and other software data.
* Continually identify opportunities for efficiency improvement, including reduction of licenses where possible and/or de-duplication of similar software packages.
* Provide regular reporting relating to software utilisation, efficiencies, trends and capacity across the organisation.
* Work with Finance/Procurement Teams to review and ratify software purchase and renewal requests that fall in line with current and future software plans.
* Lead and manage regular Vendor audits specifically but not exclusively HPE, Red Hat, Microsoft, Adobe, etc.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SOFTWARE ASSET MANAGER
* Proven knowledge and understanding of IT Asset Management
* Solid understanding of software licensing and deployment model
* Proven experience managing software procurement
* Proven experience implementing and maintaining SAM policies and procedures
