We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor based at our site in Erith (DA18 4AF). Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will take full accountability for managing the night shift operations in the warehouse, ensuring the operation runs smoothly and efficiently in line with the changing demands and needs of the customer. Additionally, you will be accountable for ensuring consistent KPI performance and following all compliance and employee relations processes. To be successful in this role, you’ll have very strong people management and development skills and be able to consistently apply HR standards, specifically regarding recruitment, absence management, performance, conduct, safety, and service. This role could be perfect for you if you have extensive warehousing operations experience and can manage, motivate, and develop people. Your working hours will be between 10 pm and 06.30 am (based on business needs), Monday to Friday. Carry out any other reasonable requests to support the effective running of the warehouse. Ensure all vehicles are loaded and unloaded using the correct equipment and customer requirements are delivered within the required timescale. Please make sure any concerns, issues, or variances to instructions are immediately communicated to the team and, when relevant, the Warehouse Operations Manager so that appropriate action can be taken as soon as possible. Deliver through briefings and day-to-day interaction effective communication to the team members; this will include daily shift briefs, the performance of site/shift, assigning work, issue resolution, Adhoc briefings and other team interactions. Manage and monitor performance through objective setting and other appropriate mechanisms, providing proper levels of mentoring and support. Ensure all team members are aware of key business outcomes, processes, and expectations, deliver all company communications consistently and timely, and provide appropriate feedback. Provide complete support with investigations and disciplinary and grievance processes. Ensuring due attention is provided to employee welfare, identifying and signposting areas of support where necessary, and ensuring functional arrangements are in place to protect the wellbeing of all employees. Ensure consistent 5S compliance – Sort, Straighten, Sanitise, Standardise and Sustain. Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times, raising any non-compliances or concerns as soon as possible. Drive an engaged and robust H&S agenda across the sites. Promote Kaizen and Right First-Time principles within the team to develop a culture of continuous improvement. Key Skills Proven leadership qualities to enable you to manage all aspects of a busy FMCG warehouse. Experience in warehouse management. Highly motivated and proactive, enjoying leading as well working as a team, whilst also taking full ownership and accountability for delivering results Demonstrate exceptional leadership, motivational skills, and innovative problem-solving abilities. Self-motivated, resilient and highly organised. Good working knowledge of all relevant operational practices FLT Licence or experience is desirable.
