The Endoscopy Unit at Scarborough offers a fast-paced working environment where we can support you to learn and develop your Endoscopy and Nursing skills.
We are looking for Nurses and pre-registered Nurses with enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and who are driven to provide excellent patient-focused care.
The successful candidate will be a team player with a strong desire to provide compassionate care and empower others within a friendly and supportive environment. You must be able to work well as part of a team and be able to use your initiative and work well under pressure.
Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive training package; therefore, previous endoscopy experience is not essential. Once competent there will be a requirement to take part in the out-of-hours GI bleed on-call service.
Main duties of the job
* Maintain a high standard of patient-focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment
* Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept
* Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information
* Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
* Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
* Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
* Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures

DBS Checks
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six-month period once you start employment. By applying you are agreeing to this undertaking. If you are successful you will be asked to confirm if you wish to pay in one amount or in instalments. The charges are currently £27.38 for a standard check and £55.38 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.
