The Adult, Housing and Communities Directorate within Cardiff Council plays an important role in the vibrancy of the city and is committed to the communities it serves. The Directorate has ambitious house building schemes and a significant housing stock which exceeds 14,000 homes. With that, the new Welsh Housing Quality Standard has been created and it is the role of the Improvement Project Manager to coordinate its delivery.
About the job
The Improvement Project Manager (WHQS) will be part of the Homes and Neighbourhoods section. As the leader of the Asset Management Team, the postholder will be responsible for delivering the Welsh Housing Quality Standard 2023 and ensuring an up to date and accurate record of the housing stock condition is maintained. They will also lead on the implementation of the new Asset Management Database to enable ongoing reporting and measuring against the standard.

The successful candidate will have the following skills:
* Ability to lead/ project manage on a large scale with many different workstreams
* In depth knowledge of WHQS2023
* Experience in implementing new technology
* Ability to think strategically
* Ability to develop good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual who has a track record of delivering important projects. You will have a proven track record of working in a social housing environment in a similar complex area and be able to manage multiple priorities. You will need a good understanding of asset management and the associated systems, be able to work with external partners and be able to analyse and present complex data to service users and senior management.
