Join Southampton Cargo Handling An excellent opportunity to join Southampton Cargo Handling, the UK's leading provider of stevedoring services. Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Team Manager to join our operations team at 20 Berth. This role completes the dual Team Management structure and reports directly to the Senior Manager of Operations. The Team Manager will oversee the day-to-day terminal and operational requirements, including cargo operations, manning, health and safety, discipline, quality and compliance standards, customer liaison, and ensuring cost and operational efficiency. You will also be responsible for familiarising yourself with the fully flexible (stevedore) contract scheme rules and operation. Working Hours: 40 hours per week Salary: £47,000 (Dependent on Experience) Key Responsibilities: Fully conversant with all operations, including RORO (deep and short sea), Cruise, Project jobs, and Central Receiving. Maintain appropriate manning levels to meet operational requirements. Complete and submit timesheets accurately and within deadlines. Plan and manage the opening and closing of RORO vessels, including staff utilisation, number presentation, and invoicing preparation. Conduct investigations into incidents involving equipment, vehicles, or staff. Ensure effective communication across all levels of the company. Act as deputy for the Senior Manager of Operations in their absence. Attend internal and external meetings as required, which may include domestic and international travel. Deliver training and awareness programs for employees on health and safety protocols, emergency procedures, and best practices. Conduct pre-operational briefings and ensure PPE compliance before shifts. Essential Requirements: Reliability and a strong work ethic. Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint). A full, clean UK driving license. Previous senior management experience. Proven ability to motivate and lead a team.
