Composite Technician Role
We are seeking a skilled Composite Technician to join our client's team, a leading developer of electric vehicles. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in manufacturing and maintaining prototype components for our cutting-edge automotive projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lay-up and cure R&D composite components to specifications, utilizing prepreg layup, vacuum bagging, and oven curing techniques.
* Implement defined processes, including bond preparations, resin and adhesive mixing, release procedures, and specified oven cure cycles.
* Provide repairs for damage sustained during track running, utilizing wet lay up and splash moulds as required.
* Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
* Trim, fit, and bond composite parts using the appropriate tools and equipment, creating jigs where necessary.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in composite lay-up, fitting, and repair in the motorsport industry.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools relevant to composite manufacturing.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Knowledge of composite materials and low-volume manufacturing processes.
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
