United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), and shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check.
We always appoint on merit, and we are open to discussing flexible working options.
Wye School, opened in September 2013, is an all-ability, co-educational school serving up to 600 students aged 11 to 19. Our drive is to provide an excellent standard of education for the whole community, supporting and developing each individual to be the very best they can be. We provide an education with character, which encompasses our core values of Respect, Determination, and Ambition; these values are central to our decision-making and interactions with students.
We are currently looking to appoint a new Student Support Assistant to join the team. The role is suitable for candidates with experience working with children to assist in promoting children’s learning and personal development, enabling each child to make the best use of the educational opportunities available to them.
You will have experience in establishing supportive relationships with students and in promoting the inclusion of students with SEN. You will be confident in supporting and monitoring children’s learning and, where appropriate, modifying or adapting activities as agreed with the teacher to achieve the intended learning outcomes.
You will have experience in forming and maintaining appropriate professional relationships with students and adults working in the school and demonstrate the ability to be an effective team member, modeling commitment to student learning.
This vacancy represents an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious organisation that works within the nationally renowned United Learning Trust.
We are an inclusive employer and welcome applications from all candidates eager to play an important role in the growth of our school.
