The Dental directorate at Guy's and St Thomas' are seeking two motivated Senior Nursing Assistants to join a large team of clinical and non-clinical staff, that work alongside each other supporting the Dental undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as directed by Kings college London (KCL).

Main duties of the job
Alongside the dental nursing team, you will support the day-to-day clinical activities in either the undergraduate or postgraduate department. You will have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and able to work independently with support as needed.
Your role will involve working in conjunction with our compound stock controller. You must have IT skills as after local training you will be expected to place stock orders and support stock control across the department. You will learn about dental materials, equipment and stock maintenance.
You will liaise with our sterile services team ensuring equipment returns to clinic in the appropriate timeframe.
If not trained already, you will be given the opportunity to complete phlebotomy training to take bloods.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Provide excellent customer care skills to ensure patients come first.
* Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties.
* Ensure, through timely ordering, adequate stock levels of all materials.
* Maintain an accurate record of all items on order and of those received, to facilitate precise stock levels.
* Monitor ordering procedures, initiating changes as appropriate to ensure the flow of supplies.
* Co-ordinate with Dental Sisters on budget and stock-control issues to assist in monitoring financial performance of cost centres.
Person specification
Experience
* Previous experience of working as a healthcare assistant in a hospital or registered care setting.
* Customer care experience.
* Experience of taking clinical observations.
Education/Qualifications
* Evidence of general education GCSEs or equivalent.
* NVQ III in Health care or equivalent qualification.
* National Care certificate.
Additional Information
* Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids.
* Able and willing to work flexibly shift patterns, internal rotation to day and night duty and unsocial hours, according to service needs.

* Knowledge of care and related procedures to area.
* Clear and accurate written and verbal communication.
