We have an amazing opportunity for a senior digital integration specialist to join us in Manchester Foundation Trust, focusing on our Genomics workstream.
You'll be leading, developing, and evolving an Integration Delivery Roadmap for Genomics order management in the North West, taking into consideration all work taking place within the Trust working in strong collaboration with Group Digital Services.
The role will be based within Group Digital Services with requirements to perform duties across all Trust sites, with additional travel to Liverpool Centre for Genomic Medicine as required.

Main duties of the job
You'll provide technical leadership, guidance, and expertise in the development, deployment, standardisation and management of integration-based technologies and services. Working closely with internal and external teams, you'll help deliver technical capability for Genomics electronic test ordering in the North West region.
You will focus on leading and delivering Low Level Designs related to integration delivery, for both internal and external clinical systems such as EPRs and LIMS. Working within the Group IT team, you will ensure that solutions are designed and delivered against the enterprise architecture, security standards, and successfully transitioned into clinical production.
You will be part of the core integration team within MFT, driving proactive continuous improvements within the Integration service to increase resilience, reduce risk, and improve patient journeys.
You'll have strong knowledge in integration design, development, and management of APIs, Web Services (REST/SOAP), messaging protocols (HL7/FHIR), and data formats.
Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and practices for automating integration deployment, testing, and operation, including pipelines, version control, and configuration management.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Master's degree in a Computer Science or related subject, or equivalent qualification or experience in large-scale, complex IT solution implementations involving integration/interoperability.
* Epic Bridges certification; Intersystems Healthshare Development certification or equivalent experience.
* EPIC specialist certification in clinical modules e.g. Beaker/Radiant/Cupid/Willow.
* Certification in other InterSystems product toolset e.g. Cach server administration and Cach ObjectScript.
* Prince 2 accreditation and familiarity with Agile.
Knowledge and Experience
* Extensive experience of designing, developing, testing, and managing interfaces using Intersystems HealthShare and Epic Bridges toolsets.
* Advanced software development skills using Cach ObjectScript in a business environment.
* Substantial experience of managing Intersystems Cach/IRIS integration server platform.
* Extensive experience of conducting in-depth technical analysis required for integrating hospital clinical systems through messaging and interfaces.
* Extensive experience of delivering integration solutions, software products, and the accompanying application configurations in a healthcare setting.
* Extensive experience of software design and management using structured methodologies.
* Good working knowledge of common patient visit workflows and events that drive NHS data flow through interfaces/messages.
* Extensive experience of working with system users, suppliers, and subject-matter experts throughout interface delivery cycles.
* Extensive experience of utilising and producing technical documentation.
* Extensive experience of solving complex and multi-stranded IT issues.
* Substantial experience in a management role.
* Substantial experience of IT project management including contribution to IT business cases, and production of relevant project documentation.
* Previous experience in NHS or similar Healthcare IT environment.
* Knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems architecture, integration architecture, and data architecture standards, frameworks, and architecture best practices.
* Good working knowledge of business workflows in key clinical areas e.g. ED, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy.
* Good working knowledge of SQL and an industry-standard Relational Database Management System such as Oracle or SQL Server in a business environment.
