Job responsibilities
This role joins the busy People Services team providing operational leadership to the team ensuring a high quality service is delivered to our customers, both internally and externally. You will support, develop and manage the performance of the People Services team to deliver an efficient and accurate service including; ensuring the employees' employment record is kept up to date in the Employee Staff Record (ESR), liaising with managers and SBS to prevent overpayments, ensuring the administration of the delivery of right to work, professional registration and parental leave and auditing this as appropriate.

Person Specification
Experience
* Educated to degree level or equivalent specialist knowledge
* Appropriate professional registration
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Experience of working within a HR department to include basic HR administration and to provide advice on policies and procedures
* Experience of using paper and electronic filing systems
* Experience of inputting data into information systems
* Experience of relating the service context and implications of the data to robust but relevant interpretation or recommendations
* Experience of analysing & responding to complex queries
* Experience of collating and analysing statistical information and presenting results to non-statistical professionals
* Experience of managing a team
* Ability to communicate effectively by telephone, particularly in giving instruction on the use of systems
* Ability to communicate effectively in person, dealing with callers to the department who may be distressed and/or upset
