Role Overview Seeking a highly motivated Field Support Engineer with expertise in both electrical and mechanical systems. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in ballistic and impact testing environments. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, a passion for fieldwork, and a customer-focused mindset. This position involves worldwide travel to support installations, maintenance, and training at client sites. Key Responsibilities Conduct pre- and post-sale site surveys, identifying and mitigating potential project risks. Document findings with detailed reports and photographs. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment and systems. Train customers on the operation and maintenance of installed equipment. Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues on-site. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. Prepare technical reports and documentation after service visits. Travel frequently across the UK and internationally as required. Qualifications & Skills Required: Proven experience in a field-based engineering role. Strong understanding of electrical circuits, mechanical systems, and diagnostic tools. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Valid UK driver’s license and passport with no travel restrictions. Preferred: Experience with velocity measurement systems. Background in ballistics or impact testing. Degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Ballistics Engineering. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Combination of office, production, and field environments (including exposure to loud noises and bright flashes). Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, and kneel as needed. Must be able to lift up to 20kg. Travel may involve long-haul flights and extended periods away from home.
