Main duties of the job The postholder's duties will be primarily at the Churchill Hospital but their presence may from time to time be required in other parts of the Trust. The post will also include involvement in the provision of transplant services in satellite outpatient and inpatient services in other hospitals as part of transplant services and participation in organ retrieval from other donor hospitals as part of the Oxford-based multi-organ retrieval service for transplantation. The postholder will be expected to play a significant role in the establishment of collaboration with adjacent transplant providers with the intention of expanding the scope of transplant activity within the broader Oxford programme. This may entail a degree of off-site working. Oxford is a partner in the Coventry-Oxford Transplant Network (COxNet) and the post-holder may be required to support the provision of clinical services at the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwick (UHCW) as part of this collaboration (where there is an independent consultant on-call).
