Job Description – Project and Scrum Manager
Purpose: To manage multiple technology projects and work streams within technology to drive delivery of key project milestones utilising both PRINCE2 and SCRUM/Agile Methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing end-to-end delivery of complex agile projects, establishing and controlling project constraints and scope.
2. Act as Scrum Master for one or more development teams, servicing the company’s main products/tech projects.
3. Responsible for all aspects of project management to ensure quality and on-time delivery of technology projects.
4. Drive governance aligned to industry standard frameworks (PRINCE2 and Agile).
5. Develop and maintain project plans and documentation such as highlight reports, risk logs, action plans, and key dependencies.
6. Track and report on project budgets, timelines, and key Agile project performance metrics.
7. Forecast the numbers of deliverables possible in an iteration, based on evidence and reliable sources.
8. Understand and apply correct escalation paths for department-specific or cross-departmental issues that place projects at risk.
9. Challenge, support, and hold accountable team members within the technology department who need to deliver against projects.
10. Guide the team on how to develop and test high-quality products.
11. Proactively contribute towards the success of the development and test team(s) on a daily basis.
12. Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Burn down techniques, Stand-ups, Planning Sessions, Retrospectives, Refinement Sessions, and Product Backlog management with Product Owners).
13. Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and growing business trust in development.
14. Arrange demos and decision-making processes to ensure quick inspection and business acceptance.
Performance against project deliverables:
1. Delivery on time within 10% +/- of estimated deadline.
2. Quality (no formal upheld client complaints regarding software releases).
3. On budget within 5% +/- of plan.
4. Risk management – all risks to have been assessed either reduced, mitigated, or accepted.

General Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements:
1. Previous Technology (Infrastructure and Software Development) Project/SCRUM experience running multiple teams/projects simultaneously.
2. Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum/Agile principles, practices, and theory.
3. Knowledge about tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories, etc.
4. Appreciation of the SDLC for a product.
5. Good communicator, who bridges the gap between development team members and different departments within the company.
6. Problem-solving skills.
7. Experience in a fast-paced environment, working to tight deadlines.
8. Budget management experience.
9. Scrum Master certification.
10. PRINCE2 certification.
11. Knowledge and use of software like Target Process / JIRA.
