Based within a locality team you will work part time, 25 or 30 hours per week, split shifts, including 7 am start, late shifts and weekends. Please select your preference on application form. Requirements
You will have SVQ2 or ability to undertake training to achieve this award within a specified timeframe. You will have the ability to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified time.
Responsibilities
You will assist in maintaining service users in their own homes in the community by attending to their assessed personal and social care needs. You will assist service users and carers in improving the quality of their life.
The Individual
You will have past/present caring experience to a high standard either life or work experience. You will have good written/oral communication skills, be able to work as team member and also be able to work alone and to use your own initiative. You will have assessment skills and be able to understand and meet the needs of people living in the community. You will be able to show sensitivity and understanding in dealing with vulnerable people and be non-judgemental with a caring, pleasant and professional approach and be dependable and have reliable attitude to work. You will be required to work a range of shifts, including a split shift, evenings, weekends and occasional nights. A full, current driving licence is required. You will be required to do further study/training. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
