As we enter our next phase of growth, we have an opportunity for a Senior Financial Officer to join our finance team in Edinburgh.
You will maintain precise and up-to-date records, providing crucial information to support decision-making processes.
This role is essential in tracking and organising financial data, contributing to the organisation's overall financial stability and success.

You'll spend your time:
1. Assisting in preparation and oversight of monthly end processes and procedures
2. Working with budget holders to analyse and track expenditure against budget
3. Supporting team to ensure general ledger reconciliations are maintained monthly
4. Reviewing and oversight of asset registers and stock management
5. Reviewing bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts
6. Completion of UK and European VAT returns
7. Assisting in preparation of quarterly management accounts and monthly internal reporting
8. Assisting in the preparation of financial information for board meetings
9. Liaising with HMRC as and when required
10. Supporting the Head of Finance with preparations for the year-end, audit and annual budgeting process.
11. Liaising with procurement, quality and rest of the business to ensure strong financial controls are in place
12. Own statutory reporting and compliance of non-UK subsidiary entities, liaising with external advisors and preparing board packs where applicable.
The key experience we're looking for:
1. Hold a recognised qualification (ACCA/ICAS)
2. Proficiency in "Xero" accounting software or similar
3. A solid understanding of IFRS accounting standards
4. Strong organisational and time management skills are necessary to meet deadlines and maintain an efficient workflow
5. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, addressing queries, and building professional relationships
The following would be advantageous:
1. Experience of ERP implementation would be desirable
2. Experience of dealing with cross-borders transactions would be desirable

This role is based onsite at Quartermile in Edinburgh.
