Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant

Education Personnel are working with a large school in Nottingham who are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to join their team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of pupils with a range of special educational needs, including but not limited to:
* Providing individual and small group support: Assisting pupils with learning activities, providing one-to-one support, and implementing differentiated learning plans.
* Creating and maintaining a supportive learning environment: Contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils.
* Communicating effectively: Maintaining regular communication with teachers, parents/carers, and other professionals regarding pupil progress and well-being.
* Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs: Implementing strategies to support pupils' social and emotional development and manage challenging behaviour.
* Assisting with practical tasks: Supporting pupils with personal care needs, preparing learning materials, and maintaining classroom resources.
* Contributing to the wider school community: Participating in school events and activities and contributing to the overall well-being of the school.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
* Proven experience working with children with SEND in a UK educational setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong understanding of child development.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Experience working with specific SEND needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia).
* Experience using Makaton or other communication support systems.
* Knowledge of and experience with de-escalation techniques.
* First Aid qualification.
