Saga Robotics are looking for a talented Mechatronics Engineer with a strong background in robotics systems design to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will be instrumental in translating conceptual ideas into functional prototypes and commercial products that will shape the future of agricultural technology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and iterate on prototypes that integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components. Your experience in mechatronics design will be crucial in ensuring the feasibility and practicality of these systems within our robotics framework.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prototype Development: Collaborate with various teams to design and build functional prototypes, with a strong focus on mechatronics systems. This includes integrating mechanical, electronic, and computing components into a cohesive robotic system.
* System Integration: Develop and test embedded computing setups. Experience with camera system integration and computer vision will be a significant advantage.
* Iterative Improvement: Engage in iterative testing and refinement of prototypes based on real-world performance feedback. Work closely with engineering teams to align prototypes with long-term development goals.
Qualifications and Key Skills:
* Educational Background: Bachelor or Master’s in Mechatronics, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field.
* Technical Expertise: Proven experience in designing and developing mechatronics systems for commercial products.
* Work Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a relevant role, preferably involving camera system integration or similar tasks.
Additional Technical Skills:
* Experience in building computing setups, especially involving camera systems, is highly desirable.
* Industrial camera protocols such as GSML, GigE or FPD-link.
* Familiarity with certification work in the UK and US.
* Experience with optics for industrial cameras.

* Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
* Keen interest in hands-on work.
* Excellent communication skills and a results-oriented mindset.
