Job Description
St Roch's Secondary are seeking to recruit a Support for Learning Worker for their Department for Deaf Education to work directly supporting the daily tasks of a class teacher along with the children. The post will be 16.5 hours term time. The Support for Learning Worker will also play a key role in the modern school environment in providing support and assistance to children and young people with additional support needs to access the curriculum.
The main duties and responsibilities include supporting direct tasks instructed by the class teacher, the provision of care and support to children whilst building positive working relationships and promoting positive behaviour.
This position also includes the provision of support with the supervision and administration of medication and intimate personal care. The ability to sign BSL, while not essential, would be a significant advantage. Successful candidates will be expected to commit to BSL CLPL as required. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment.
