We are looking to recruit a Clinical Support Worker to join our team on Pevensey Day Unit, which provides treatments to Haematology and Oncology patients as day cases. The day area has 18 chair/bed spaces caring predominantly for patients receiving Haematology and Oncology treatments and is currently open from 0800 - 1800 Monday to Friday. The Unit uses the Chemocare electronic prescribing system and has implemented an electronic diary system for booking patient appointments.
Communicating with patients and staff is paramount to the job role. Collecting chemotherapy and assisting with procedures is also a vital part of the role. You will undertake and learn venepuncture, cannulation, and care of central lines using dressing skills - training will be provided. You must have worked within a hospital environment previously and should have a ‘Care certificate’ or be willing to work towards this.
You must be able to work as part of a team, use your own initiative, and possess effective interpersonal and communication skills, contributing fully as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. We provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship, and clinical supervision on the unit and are committed to the professional development of all staff. Teamwork is integral to this unit, with all staff enabled and empowered to make a real difference for their patients.
The Unit is currently open from 8am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, and you will predominantly work 9am to 5pm/8am to 4pm.
