We are seeking a creative and dedicated Design Technology Teachers to join various schools and inspire students through hands-on, practical learning. You will deliver exciting lessons that encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, and the development of practical skills in areas such as product design, engineering, and digital technologies. This begins February 2025.
Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
* Teach a variety of topics, including product design, resistant materials, electronics, and CAD/CAM.
* Inspire students to explore their creativity and develop practical skills through project-based learning.
* Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting targets for improvement.
* Encourage safe and responsible use of equipment and materials in the workshop and classroom as a Design Technology Teacher.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure an integrated approach to cross-curricular learning.
* Organise and manage school projects, competitions, and extra-curricular activities related to Design Technology.
* Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements to incorporate into lessons.
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
* A recognised teaching qualification (QTS/PGCE or equivalent).
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Design Technology or a related field.
* Experience teaching Design Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable).
* Strong practical skills in design, prototyping, and workshop-based activities.
* Knowledge of current teaching methods and assessment strategies.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop a passion for design and technology.
* A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
