Lecturer in Counselling and Psychology (0.4 FTE)
Wrexham University is a forward-thinking and student-focused institution that places great emphasis on its quality of learning and teaching and student experience. We are a vibrant and diverse University located in Wrexham, North East Wales. Our strategic vision sets an ambitious agenda for our future success and growth, which focuses on the delivery of excellent learning and teaching underpinned by research.
Following recent developments in the Faculty, we are now seeking a lecturer to work with our Counselling and Psychology team. Applicants holding professional body accreditation by the BACP and/or British Psychological Society will be particularly welcome.
We seek to appoint an individual with vision who can contribute to the development of the programmes and to the growth of the department. The department delivers online, blended, and face-to-face learning for our students. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who have a specialism in counselling psychology and are able to contribute to the delivery of our masters programme in counselling which will be delivered from September 2025.
You will combine a passion for teaching and research. The successful candidate will assume a key role in the planning, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of the programmes we offer. You will work with students, team members, and colleagues across the wider University to ensure a positive experience for students, monitor student recruitment and retention and address all University quality assurance processes. Teaching and learning experience within the Higher Education sector would be an advantage.
The role is varied and challenging, so you will need to be a highly self-motivated individual who is able to work flexibly and to tight deadlines, both autonomously and as part of a team. You will have outstanding communication and organisational skills and an eye for detail. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, but not essential.
For an informal discussion please contact Professor Mandy Robbins, Associate Dean, Faculty of Social and Life Sciences via m.robbins@wrexham.ac.uk.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 30th March 2025.
PLEASE NOTE CV’S WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY A COMPLETED APPLICATION FORM.
