Job Title: Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Grade : Consultant Location : Abingdon, Berkshire Working Hours: 24 hours per week Rate : Competitive, to be discussed upon application We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant in Child and Adolescent CAMHS Psychiatry(CMHT) to work full time hours for our NHS client based in Abingdon, Berkshire. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately for a short-term contract What will your responsibilities be? As a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the UK, your responsibilities are both broad and specialised. You are primarily responsible for providing expert clinical assessments and diagnoses for children and adolescents experiencing complex mental health issues. This involves leading and overseeing the development of comprehensive treatment plans and therapeutic interventions. You are expected to manage and support multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective collaboration between various healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and nurses. In addition, you play a key role in supervising and mentoring junior staff and trainees, contributing to their professional development. You also engage in regular MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) meetings to discuss patient progress, share insights, and adjust treatment strategies as necessary. Furthermore, you may be involved in service development and quality improvement initiatives, aiming to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of CAMHS services. Qualifications and Experiences: You must have a full GMC licence to practice Relevant previous experience working in this type of position Section 12/RC approval is essential Approved clinician status is desired but not essential How to apply?
