As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Multi skilled, electrically biased Shift Maintenance Engineer with experience gained within the Automotive sector to complement their established and highly professional maintenance team.
Based near Birmingham and working Monday to Friday - 6am to 2pm - the successful Maintenance Engineer candidate will be tasked with performing a range of (PPM) planned preventative and reactive breakdown duties on paint and moulding plant and equipment whilst ensuring the highest levels of compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation, working as part of a team striving to achieve company objectives and both meeting and exceeding agreed KPIs and metrics. The role involves responding to immediate machinery breakdowns to ensure minimal production downtime as well as working to a structured PPM schedule performing servicing, testing and cleaning to optimise equipment reliability.
Able to read detailed electrical schematics and work to technical drawings and perform safe testing in live conditions, you will also be tasked with undertaking basic fault find, diagnosis and repair on PLC controlled equipment, repairing and installing motors as well as stripping and rebuilding complex special purpose machinery as required.
Other duties in this varied and challenging Maintenance Engineer role will include liaising with suppliers and other maintenance engineers and technical support providers at machine manufacturers, specifying replacement parts and tools, overhauling and replacing electrical and mechanical parts as required, and mentoring apprentices in both best maintenance practices as well as working to Health and Safety requirements.
To be considered for this exceptional opportunity within a genuine market leading niche sector organisation, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be multidisciplined and demonstrate relevant electrical and mechanical qualifications to at least HNC level or above and ideally have completed an engineering apprenticeship, hold 18th Edition IEE regs certification, and be skilled in basic PLC fault find, diagnosis and repair activities with at least 3 years' experience gained in an engineering or manufacturing maintenance environment.
