An opportunity has arisen for experienced Occupational Therapists within the Adult Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) West of Northamptonshire based at Campbell House, Northampton.
We are looking for registered Occupational Therapists with demonstrable skills, enthusiasm, and compassion to work with service users who have a range of complex mental health needs and who are focused on supporting service users to recover.
You will be someone who can make a significant contribution to a service user's recovery. You will be able to deliver effective and evidence-based mental health treatment to service users who will have varying levels of complexity. Using your knowledge and skills to reduce mental health symptoms by improving function and participation to help individuals develop and maintain positive mental health in order for them to live full and productive lives.
Main duties of the job
You will have the ability to determine a service user's needs through assessment and recovery care planning and be able to formulate risk management plans in conjunction with the service user and their carers. You will deliver interventions individually to a caseload of Service Users and have the opportunity to develop and lead on group interventions. You will be able to manage your time effectively to ensure service users receive a high-quality service and have the ability to adapt to manage competing demands.
The role will offer the chance for service development opportunities specifically related to Occupational Therapy as well as supervision of junior staff and students.

Person Specification
Qualifications and experience
* Qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration
* Supporting statement demonstrates match to role requirements
* At least one year of experience in an adult mental health setting
* Experience of supporting people with complex mental health issues and ability to support through effective treatment and risk management
* Community mental health experience
* Professional development qualifications relevant to the role
Skills and Ability
* High level of communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload
* IT skills/knowledge appropriate to the role
* Embedding OT principles and methodology in Adult mental health teams
* Development of care pathways and an understanding of the patient journey
* Supervision of junior staff and students
