Role: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Multiple school sites
Start: April 2025
Salary: £14.45 - £15.20 per hour
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting. This role involves supporting students with personalised learning programmes, assisting teachers in lesson delivery and contributing to students’ academic and social development.
The Role:
As a key member of the team, you will:
* Build strong relationships with pupils, promoting social and emotional development
* Support learning activities, particularly in literacy and numeracy, for students with a range of SEN needs
* Assist in lesson preparation, resource management and maintaining student records
* Work with students in various settings, adapting teaching methods to individual needs
* Help manage pupil behaviour, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment
* Liaise with teachers, managers, families and external professionals to support student progress
* Deliver and monitor individual education programmes, maintaining accurate records
About You:
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience working successfully with young people with a wide variety of needs
* Demonstrate strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Show an understanding of safeguarding and how to keep children safe
* Have strong behaviour management skills and nurturing, patient approach
* Be confident in supporting both academic learning and social development
* Be proficient in using ICT for teaching and record keeping
* Be proactive in professional development and committed to teamwork
