Purchase Ledger Administrator
Based at our contemporary head office and distribution centre on the outskirts of Preston, James Hall & Co. Ltd. have been
established for over 150 years proudly serving communities across the north of England as supplier and distributor to over 400
SPAR stores.

About the Role
To be responsible for ensuring specific purchase ledger suppliers within the wholesale division of the business are paid
accurately and to specified payment terms as agreed with our suppliers.
Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing
The role will be varied and you will help us cover a wide range of priorities including supplier statement reconciliation, setting
up new suppliers and making payments via Bacs and CHAPS. Other duties will include:
* Matching of invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes via both the Imscan system and manually
* Identifying and resolving discrepancies prior to payments to suppliers
* Liaising with suppliers regarding disputed claims together with other departments of the Company
* Posting/Allocating payments
A Few Things About You
While we are committed to providing full training and support, some Purchase Ledger experience would be desirable. We would also
be delighted if you could demonstrate:
* Excellent numeracy skills
* Good communication skills including over the telephone
* To be able to work on own initiative
* To be able to organise their workload and continuously meet deadlines
* To be able to work effectively as part of a team, providing cover where necessary.
