Whipps Cross Respiratory Service
Trust Grade ST3 + equivalent until end of May 2025
Our Respiratory team is growing and we would like you to be a part of our fantastic workforce. We are advertising for a 1-year fixed-term clinical fellow (ST3 + equivalent) post. This post will sit within the department of Respiratory medicine but can include General Medicine on-call work if the successful applicant so desires.
The successful applicant will be able to develop individualised educational goals. This post presents excellent opportunities to develop clinical skills and has a high level of consultant supervision. This provides a good educational opportunity and if the post holder is interested they will be able to gain audit, research or teaching experience. Main duties of the job
This post will get an opportunity to gain experience working in both inpatient and outpatient services. The Respiratory Department provides a TB, pleural Clinic, bronchoscopy, COPD which includes acute NIV, pulmonary rehabilitation and early discharge Services. The Service has a fully equipped lung function laboratory and dedicated outpatient facility (Chest Clinic). You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council and have experience across a broad range of Medical Subspecialties.

We operate from four major hospital sites (The Royal London, St Bartholomew's, Whipps Cross and Newham) and a number of community locations, including Mile End hospital. Around 2.5 million people living in east London look to our services to provide them with the healthcare they need.

* Full GMC Registration with license to practice

* Previous substantive post of at least 12 months in a UK hospital
* Ability to perform procedures where appropriate
* Experience in Respiratory Medicine
* Broad experience in G(I)M
* Current ALS certificate

* Detailed knowledge of Respiratory Medicine and G(I)M and of the specialist skills required for this post
* Knowledge of multidisciplinary clinical audit and demonstrable commitment to improving quality of care to patients
* Understanding of modern medical curricula and commitment to life-long learning
