Main Responsibilities
To be responsible for the production operations from Raw Material intake through to Low care packaging.
To achieve or exceed production performance KPIs across a balanced agenda whilst maintaining compliance to the relevant health and safety and quality procedures and policies.
The role has major focus on the more systemic aspects of operations such as co-ordinating training, managing daily audits and longer-term performance monitoring, trending and improvement.
Responsible for Health and Safety across all areas either directly or with the Area Managers. Ensure compliance to all health and safety.
Maintain good GMP in all production areas. Be responsible for overall factory standards at all times, especially during audits.
Be site Health & Safety and Food Safety champion and fully comply with all HR policies and quality procedures both internally and externally.
Support the continuous improvement of the Area Manager on your team including quarterly performance reviews, target setting and coaching where required.
Ensure that the daily stock checks are completed, and the stock accuracy is maintained at 99% or above. Report any inaccuracies to the Manufacturing Manager.
Take responsibility for the Yield performance and deliver on targets as set with the Manufacturing Manager.
Developing robust succession plan for department.
Stand in for the Manufacturing Manager when needed, covering holidays or periods of absence.
Skills and Experience Required
~ A good knowledge of FMCG manufacturing to level 5.
~ Relevant H&S qualification (NEBOSH or IOSH).
~ Experience of managing and building teams with a headcount
~30.
~ Relevant Management and Leadership qualifications/training especially within Disciplinary & Grievance and conducting investigations.
~ Knowledge and examples of application of Lean tools and techniques including problem solving.
~ Good level of mathematical capability and an understanding of yield and efficiency.
~ Good communication skills and a desire to build cross functional relationships.
~ Knowledge of quality systems including HACCP and corrective and preventative actions.
~ Able to effectively prioritise workload to meet the needs of the department.
~ Able to give clear instruction and engage/communicate with people in positions above and below the role including reporting and presenting of information.
