As Area Sales Manager, you will be joining a highly successful global market leader who is a leader in their market. The role is field-based, covering the Southwest territory, building the customer base effectively to meet customer needs and developing a strong sales pipeline. The role is full-time and permanent, offering a salary between £38,000 and £40,000 with excellent commission opportunities and an OTE of circa £50,000. Being a territory role, the ideal location would be in the Southwest as the area covers Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall.
Key Accountabilities for the Area Sales Manager:
1. Identifying opportunities across a territory through research, data, and networking
2. Promotion of products to all key accounts and end-users
3. Managing your own area, developing prospects, and following up on opportunities
4. Achieving territory sales by cold calling, appointment setting, site surveys, and demonstrations
5. Achieving calls to target groups on a monthly basis
6. Following up on sales leads
7. Growing your own pipeline working to KPIs
8. Developing key client relationships and contacts to gain traction
9. Participating in team projects like new product launches and terms changes
10. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all internal teams to optimise efficiencies
11. Developing a qualified pipeline
12. Working closely with internal teams providing product feedback, market trends, and competitor information
Key Skills Required for the Area Sales Role:
1. Experience in a field business development/area sales manager role
2. Proven track record in sales
3. Cold calling, prospecting, and business development experience
4. High levels of customer service
5. Ability to organise your own time effectively
6. Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
7. Confident communication skills
8. Ability to establish and nurture client relationships
9. High levels of initiative, energy, and drive
