We are looking for a highly motivated Light Vehicle Motor Mechanic and MOT Tester to join our County Transport team, supporting the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of motor vehicles including motor cars, minibuses, light goods vehicles, trailers, and engineering plant.
You will need to be suitably experienced, hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) vocational qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair operations, and have a valid full driving licence with a minimum of a B category. Holding certification for MOT testing in Class 4, 5, and 7 is essential and an expectation for this role; however, consideration will be given to suitably qualified and experienced candidates who are eligible to undergo MOT training to become a tester.
Candidates who are not qualified and experienced should not apply for this role.
We operate a modern fleet of vehicles that we preventively maintain to a very high standard with an emphasis on ‘Quality’ over ‘Quantity’. The suitable applicant will be workshop-based but may, on occasion, be required to attend vehicles at the roadside or at our customers' depots.
The successful candidate will be issued with a personal tool kit along with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and branded workwear. The workshop also has its own specialist tools and up-to-date vehicle diagnostic equipment.
The role will be based at our Ambergate Workshop, and the standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm and Friday 9.00 am – 4.30 pm.
