Position Summary: Working Hours: The working pattern for the role is continental, 12 hour shifts on a 5/4 pattern rotating between days & nights Salary & Benefits: £52,335.21 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance) Competitive Pension Scheme 23 days holiday (with the option to buy/sell holiday) PPE provided by the business Staff discount shop Cycle to work scheme Subsidised Canteen Long Service Rewards Main Accountability The Shift Technician role is to work across a fully automated distribution centre consisting of 4 stores, 20 high crane bays & 3 miles of conveyors over an area of 36000 sqm ensuring smooth running and maintenance of the site using your specialist engineering knowledge whilst delivering optimum plant reliability through preventative maintenance and electrical testing, including fault finding and problem solving. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be working in a fully automated distribution centre consisting of 3 high-bays, low-bay and a power store 20 high bay cranes, and over 6 kilometres of conveyors Provide support to the logistics operations teams by timely response and rectification of a wide range of mechanical equipment faults Be self-motivated to improve own skill set through exposure to all types of breakdowns Understand cost, quality, hygiene and safety implications/interfaces Demonstrate previous working with Automated mechanical equipment Demonstrate a high level of electrical/mechanical competence to analyse data to improve performance & efficiency Be aligned to the SRDC and finished goods warehouse areas, carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance and electrical work Support the on-site health and safety programs by actively being involved in site programs Champion best practice to improve standards Qualifications Electrical experience and qualifications assessed at minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Apprentice trained with proven experience Proven practical experience, problem solving, and experience preferably in installation/maintenance and fault finding Able to read electrical drawings Possess City and Guilds 2395 or equivalent with some experience in this area 18th Edition of the wiring regulations PLC programming experience is desirable Logistics experience is desirable Be able to work unaided and independently but in co-operation with peers, and the operations team Be experienced in high volume continuous production environment and capable of fault diagnosis using drawings. Capable of working to heights of 22 metres Demonstrate good communication skills when dealing with peer group and other interested parties (operations team/contractors) Have working knowledge of general site health and safety systems e.g. permit to work/safety teams Computer literacy We pride ourselves on our superb work force.
