Temporary position Mechanical Design Engineer working
We are looking for a contractor to work within the R&D mechanical engineering team at our client's award-winning site in Congleton UK, part of the Motion Control (MC) division. The role will be to work within one of our cross functional teams.
We are looking for an engineer with a good knowledge of the injection moulding & die-casting processes as well as electronics product development. Experience of using Siemens NX is essential, and preferably experience of using Teamcenter and Siemens FloEFD.
What are my responsibilities?
* The engineer will be working within a cross functional Product Development Team.
* You will be responsible for working with other departments and our suppliers to ensure all changes are introduced into our global factory network without disrupting current production.
* You will be responsible for coordinating your activities with the electrical and PCB engineers.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
* Candidates must be competent at using Siemens NX CAD software in Part, Assembly and drawing modes.
* Must have a good knowledge of the Aluminium & Zinc die-casting process as well as the plastic injection moulding process.
* Must have experience of designing parts for the above processes and have experience in reducing part costs.
* Must be able to work unsupervised when appropriate.
* Capable of working to timescales, be flexible and adaptable.
* Must be able to track their progress and report it.
Demonstrating experience of the following would be an advantage:
* CFD simulations, e.g Siemens Simcenter FloEFD.
* Siemens Teamcenter PLM software.

What is the working environment like?
We work in a hybrid mode with offices and laboratories available onsite in Congleton. Onsite attendance is dictated by meetings and work required by the project. A typical week will see you onsite 2-3 days but is dependent on the needs of the project and in testing phases this could be onsite every day.
