About the Police Constable Entry Programme
Our Police Constable Entry Programme is our new and improved two-year work-based scheme aimed at people who wish to become a Police Constable through a more vocational route with no studying towards a degree. You will undertake a period of initial learning across 24 weeks at our Training Centre, followed by operational coaching and training in the wider force. The training includes a blended approach of both classroom based and practical on-the-job learning whilst being supported by experienced colleagues.
Ensuring our Police Officers have plenty of development opportunities is high on our agenda; once you have successfully completed the two year probationary period you will be able to consider further opportunities including promotion and specialisms within the Force including Firearms, Police Dogs, working in Complex Investigations, our Drone department or on Roads Policing; the possibilities are limitless!

After your initial training you will be based at locations throughout the county to meet the demands of the organisation, with the requirement to work anywhere in the force. You will work 40 hours per week working rotating shifts after initial training (this includes weekends, nights and bank holidays with a shift pattern over 365/6 days a year)
You are not able to progress for more than one entry route; please apply for the route which is most suited to you, this includes both Police Constable and Detective Constable positions.
What's in it for you?
You will start on £29,907, per annum and this will increase with yearly increments meaning you can earn up to £48,231 within 7 years of starting your training!

Are you Eligible?
Qualifications:
* a minimum level 3 qualification in any subject
* Or have relevant quantifiable experience to the role of police constable (conditions apply)
* Or are a current serving PCSO, who has passed your probationary period and served 12 months in post
* Or are a current serving Special Constable who has attained their independent patrol status at the time of application
* Hold a full UK driving licence (manual)
Residency and Nationality - Candidates are required to be UK resident for at least the last three years. You must be a British, Irish or EEA National, alternatively you must have no restrictions on your right to live and work in the UK.
Vetting - Successful applicants will be required to pass Vetting prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical - Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which will include a drugs test and a fitness test.
Fitness test - Once conditionally offered, and prior to receiving a formal place on the cohort you will need to be able/ready to run the bleep test to a level of 5.4
