Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.
Role Purpose
We are hiring for this permanent opportunity due to continued growth. As our business expands, the demand for our expertise grows, and we are in need of a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join us on a permanent and full-time basis.
In this role, your designs will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and efficiency of our projects. The primary objective is to collaboratively provide accurate and consistent designs that are delivered within budgets and to agreed timescales.
The Role
We can offer a hybrid model for this role, 3 days in the office and 2 days at home, although we offer some flexible working.
Based on a 42.5hrs contract working Monday to Friday.
* Leading the direction of Civil/MEICA projects, pulling together support and deliverables from the wider design team, developing clarity of the overall project scope.
* Producing civil and mechanical designs using project specifications, standard requirements, outline scopes of work, and/or site investigations.
* Innovate, challenge, and consider continuous improvement across projects and designs.
* Specification of technical plant and/or machinery to allow less technical procurement members of company to progress the ordering
* Ensuring additional works are captured. This will require liaising with project managers and commercial teams to review the impact to programme and assisting with raising compensation events.
* Attending site, both during and after project, to support in any technical issues and close out information
* Producing and carrying out technical presentations during client visits to highlight the capabilities of the department
Requirements
* Relevant engineering qualification such as HNC, HND, Degree (desirable)
* Experience in: (desirable)
o Site general arrangement design, 2D and/or 3D
o Design project coordination
o Civil, mechanical, structural steelwork design
o Small and large bore pipework systems
o Chemical dosing
o Water quality monitoring
o Pump sizing and pump system design
* Autodesk 2D and/or 3D CAD packages
* Using Microsoft packages
* Specific water industry-based design experience
