WHAT TO EXPECT
JLR is seeking a dedicated Power Electronics Engineer to play a pivotal role in all Hybrid Traction Power Electronics Current Car topics. This role involves progressing multiple live topics through the engineering cycle, delivering successful plans, and working closely with our Tier 1 suppliers and cross-functional teams across the business. Strong interpersonal, time management, and planning skills are essential. Additionally, the Power Electronics Engineer will support continuous improvement in Power Electronics quality and enable our retailers and field teams to effectively resolve Power Electronics-related issues on our hybrid vehicles.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Act as an engineering interface between JLR stakeholders and Tier 1 suppliers for post-start-of-sale Power Electronics activities.
2. Progress hardware and/or software changes from supplier implementation through to JLR production, including BoM releases and commercials where appropriate.
3. Support the Lead Power Electronics Engineer in delivering effectively while meeting stakeholder expectations.
4. Complete re-application work of existing Power Electronics components into new/modified vehicle lines as required.
5. Ensure retailer guidance and tools are accurate, informative, and supportive to enable self-sufficient issue resolution and reduce reliance on engineering support.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
1. Experience solving issues using standardised problem solving tools and methodologies (e.g. 8D, Ishikawa)
2. Understanding of Power Electronics HW and SW key components, along with associated validation processes
3. Experience working on HV components (e.g. Inverters, DCDCs, Batteries etc.)
4. Ability to integrate and manipulate data to make informed decisions
5. Experience of meeting deadlines, through following and maintaining a delivery plan
