Associate Director of Nursing Professional Development & Education
Band 8C, full time 37.5 hours per week

This key strategic post leads on the commissioning and delivery of nursing and midwifery education and development for the Trust
This role will be part of the team the delivering the Trust’s nursing strategy as well as delivery of the Trust’s workforce plan.
The post-holder will engage with all levels of the nursing & midwifery structure in order to shape and develop the strategic approach to nursing and midwifery education, as well as working in collaboration with colleagues in the learning and organisational development facility and other workforce teams and external stakeholders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies for nursing and midwifery education at Croydon Health Services, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and professional development needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to innovate education pathways, integrate research, and meet training requirements across all career levels.
Serve as the subject matter expert for HCA induction, developing retention strategies, competency frameworks, and pathways for HCAs and Nursing Associates. Manage partnerships with HEIs, ensuring quality clinical placements that meet NMC standards, addressing escalated student issues, and optimizing funding utilization for pre-registration training. Lead recruitment and placement for Return to Practice programs.
Design and deliver post-registration training, including preceptorship programs and internationally educated nurse support. Prioritize CPD funding, apprenticeship programs, and retention strategies using data-driven approaches. Manage education budgets, secure funding, and evaluate training effectiveness.
Oversee projects to enhance clinical education, promote evidence-based practices, and align with strategic goals. Lead and develop the Nurse Education Team, ensuring effective role alignment and change management. Represent the Trust at external forums, championing education to advance clinical practice and organizational priorities.
