St Catherine’s is a school very proud of its friendly atmosphere, excellent pastoral care and strong academic reputation. Our School Mission captures the spirit of our happy, confident and inclusive community.
We seek an enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate who has the ability to teach Chemistry and/or Physics; however, teachers with any science specialism are welcome to apply. You will teach all sciences at Key Stage three, and be likely to teach your own science specialism(s) at GCSE.
To be successful, you will be an inspirational and committed teacher who can engage pupils and communicate your passion for science. You will be able to demonstrate excellent planning, teaching and assessment skills, and have high expectations, excellent classroom management, strong pastoral skills and the ability to motivate, encourage and inspire pupils. You will also be expected to play a full and positive part in the life of the School.
The post is suitable for an experienced teacher or ECT and we welcome applications from teachers who are also able to teach an additional subject and/or who have other skills and experience to offer.
The School is interested in applicants who are ambitious about pupil progress and committed to creating a dynamic, rich and broad curriculum. Initiatives to strengthen the exciting extension and enrichment programme will be valued, as will a well-judged and knowledgeable focus on the learning needs of individual pupils.
If you feel you have the experience, enthusiasm and commitment we are looking for, then we would be delighted to receive an application from you.
