Ivel Valley School is a local authority-maintained area special school catering for children and young adults aged 3 to 19 years who have a wide range of complex learning needs and disabilities. The school is located at two sites in Biggleswade.
This post is one of three site agents/managers who share responsibility for all aspects of facilities and property management across the three sites, with specific responsibility for health and safety management. Responsibilities include general caretaking tasks such as locking up, cleaning, porterage, waste management, and day-to-day maintenance and repairs.
We are looking for someone with relevant experience in premises management who can continually improve our health and safety policies, procedures, and records across the school. It is essential to understand and adapt to the unique environment of Ivel Valley School; any improvements or developments need to work within this context to be successful. Therefore, the role holder must have excellent interpersonal skills and be flexible, proactive, and able to remain positive regardless of daily challenges.
The school operates between 6am and 6pm Monday to Friday (hours vary during school holidays) and for out-of-hours lettings.
Hours: 37 hours per week - (all year round) – 10:00-6pm (4 days) 10:30am-6pm (1 day) includes a 30-minute break (hours may vary during school holidays) plus out-of-hours lettings (paid as overtime).
