About the Role:
Heart Teaching is looking for a passionate and experiencedSEN Teacherto join an inspiring and dynamic team at an SEN school inMaidstone. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, and complex needs.
If you are a dedicated teacher with experience in SEN, this is your chance to make a real difference in the lives of children. Youll help shape students educational experiences by providing tailored, high-impact teaching that supports their development both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging lessonsthat cater to the needs of students with various SEN.
* Monitor student progressand implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to track and support their development.
* Work closely with other staff membersincluding teaching assistants, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to provide integrated support.
* Promote student independence, self-confidence, and social integration, helping them achieve personal and academic success.
* Adapt teaching methodsand resources to suit diverse learning needs and abilities.
* Maintain open communicationwith parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress.
* Ensure a safe and supportive classroom environment, fostering respect and collaboration among students.
* Keep accurate recordsof progress, behaviour, and achievements.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally in an SEN or mainstream school setting.
* Strong communication skillsand the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.
* Ability todifferentiate teachingand create individualized learning plans for each student.
* A commitment toprofessional developmentand staying up-to-date with the latest practices in SEN education.
* Enhanced DBS check(or willingness to apply for one).
