About you: You’re an established Business Analyst who enjoys leading and developing a team. You’ll support the Principal Business Analyst to ensure the talented team of Business Analysts are all highly engaged with a focus on continuous improvement, driving the quality of business analysis across the change portfolio and leading the team to ever higher performance. You’ll be someone who understands the “business side” of Insurance as well as being comfortable working with technology, creating solution and technology agnostic artefacts that can be used by Architecture and Engineering teams to design and implement solutions. You’ll take the broader aspects of the business into consideration to ensure the delivery of customer value through the implementation of IT services, and to ensure that appropriate change management activity is delivered in each impacted business area to enable the project to achieve its benefits. Our Senior/Lead BAs are business savvy and work with Business Sponsors, Project Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Technical BA & Engineers and other required stakeholders to plan and execute analysis activities to the needs of the project’s time, cost and quality parameters. You enjoy leading and coaching others, challenging and defining new ways of working and making things happen. What you’ll be doing Business analysis work • Acting as Lead/Senior BA on more complex projects and transformations • Managing the elicitation of requirements and articulating the business processes they relate to, primarily focusing on deriving business insight from stakeholders, MI and independent research to support each of the phases of the project lifecycle • Analysing, capturing and examining project benefits to ensure they are accurate and realistic • Leading the research of complex issues or cross functional initiatives with minimal direction and assisting in the production of options and recommendations for change • Producing high quality business and technical requirements and deliverables on more complex projects Leadership and team management • Deputising for the Principal Business Analyst where required to represent and promote business analysis practices and principles • Leading and motivating a team of high-performing Business Analysts to deliver successful change, providing timely feedback and coaching, ensuring high performance and assuring the quality of work done • Taking responsibility for the recruitment of business analysts to ensure the skills within the team meet the different project requirements Business analysis practices • Developing the team’s analysis toolkits and methodologies • Applying BA best practice and insights that challenge the business to think about the “right” solution Stakeholder relationship management • Building relationships and becoming and trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, understanding goals, objectives and desired outcomes, and bringing them on the journey • Maintaining a close working relationship with Project Management, PMO, Product Managers and IT colleagues, and supporting the Principal BA to continually drive forward the improvement and evolution of the BA Chapter and of the UK Change agenda Self-development • Taking a keen interest in self-learning and upskilling to ensure a strong understanding of business analysis, insurance and technology trends and building new skills in line with the pace of change Our must haves · Proven experience of operating within a Lead/Senior BA role within a professional services organisation · Business analysis subject matter expertise - strive to continually improve business analysis standards, processes, tools and techniques. · Exceptional communication skills with senior stakeholders to facilitate decision making by clearly articulating analysis outputs · Minimum 5 years’ experience operating as a BA in a high-quality output culture · Experience operating in a challenging organisational environment with a requirement to balance differing priorities and demands · Strong sense of curiosity to challenge the status quo and conventional thinking · A passion for people management, coaching and developing a team of Business Analysts and driving high performance · Understanding of BA best practice, supported by involvement with external bodies/practices · Experience working on large, complex projects or programmes in a lead analyst role · Experience using Business Analysis tools, techniques and methodologies in a mix of delivery methodologies – including Agile · A passion for change and the value change brings to the business · Able to build strong working relationships across the business & technology · Exceptional stakeholder influencing, persuasion and consultancy skills · Leadership qualities that will influence scope & design, helping to ensure the project outcomes move the business forward towards its strategic ambitions · Comfortable working with third party software houses and/or technology providers Our nice to haves · Financial Services/insurance industry experience · Experience of any of the following areas; CRM rollout, workflow TOM design, data strategy, automation would be advantageous · Experience working as part of a globally distributed team · BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent qualification Diversity and flexible working at Hiscox At Hiscox we care about our people.
