2. are a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with 2 years post-qualification experience (by March 2024) or
3. You meet the KSA criteria, you would be eligible to apply for a funded role.
Main duties of the job
The trainee CBT position involves engaging in and undertaking the PG Diploma in High Intensity CBT at Royal Holloway London. Training takes place over one academic year and involves spending two days per week at university and three days in service at Bexley NHS Talking Therapies.
You will provide high intensity interventions to adults presenting with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Counsellors, Talking Therapy qualified Counsellors, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Primary Care Mental Health Practitioners and Employment Advisors.
Clinical and case management supervision is provided within the service. Once qualified you will be expected to offer F2F treatment as well as facilitate group sessions/assessments.
Job responsibilities
You will be required to:
* Attend University 2 days a week
* Work in service 3 days a week providing High Intensity treatment according to the stipulations of your training and advice from your leads in service to carefully selected clients needing support for their Mental Health.
* Provide treatment in line with the University Modules and once qualified will be expected to provide F2F and/or group treatment for those requiring this.
* Attend team meetings as required
* Attend in-house training as required
* Attend one to one clinical supervision with your allocated supervisor.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* A core mental health practitioner qualification or KSA route
* Undergraduate degree (or equivalent overseas qualification). Other academic qualifications of an equivalent standard can be taken into account
* Post qualification experience of working with people with serious mental health problems
Experience
* Significant experience of working in mental health services
* Ability to manage own caseload and time
* Experience in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
* Knowledge of the IAPT / Talking Therapies programmes and the stepped care model
* Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance
* Has received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
* Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other mental health problems
