Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Home Location: Hounslow TW3 Salary: 50-65k Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Job Purpose: The Registered Manager is responsible for managing a children’s residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety. The role involves leading a team, maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations, and providing a supportive and nurturing environment for children and young people. Key Responsibilities: 1. Leadership & Management: Provide effective leadership and operational management of the home. Recruit, train, and supervise staff, ensuring a positive and motivated team. Conduct staff appraisals, supervisions, and performance management. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and best practices. 2. Child-Centered Care: Ensure high-quality, person-centred care that meets the needs of each child. Promote a safe, stable, and nurturing environment. Develop and implement individual care plans. Ensure children’s emotional, social, and educational needs are met. 3. Compliance & Safeguarding: Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards, Children’s Homes Regulations, and the Quality Standards. Maintain policies and procedures to safeguard children and young people. Ensure effective risk management and incident reporting. Work closely with local authorities, social workers, and other professionals. 4. Financial & Administrative Duties: Manage the home’s budget effectively. Ensure accurate record-keeping and report writing. Oversee health and safety requirements. Essential Requirements: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards). Minimum 2 years of experience in a managerial role in a children’s residential setting. Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding procedures. Ability to lead and develop a staff team effectively. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Passionate about improving the lives of vulnerable children. Desirable: Experience working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). Knowledge of trauma-informed care and therapeutic approaches.
