Technical Assistant
40 hours per week
Annual salary: Circa £26,500 depending on experience
Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:00

As a Technical Assistant, you will provide support to the Technical Department in the achievement and retention of BRC certification, other 3rd party audits and Internal audits through compliance with Technical standards across site.
The Worksop Site
The Worksop site was established in 1935, and we have four highly-automated factories on site that produce a variety of well-known brands and products including:

2. Sauces - including Sharwoods and Homepride
3. Batchelors Supernoodles and Sharwoods Poppadoms
4. Bisto gravy granules and SAXA salt

Main duties and responsibilities include:
16. Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are followed.
17. Support the food safety quality culture through engagement and continuous improvement to maintain and improve the safety, authenticity, legality, and quality of products manufactured on site.
18. Complete required administration and coordination to ensure supplies of materials or technical documentation is available in manufacturing areas on time.
19. Prepare, analyse and supply technical data for internal and external stakeholders.
20. Distribution of customer complaint samples to stakeholders.
21. Maintenance of Technical registers and logs relative to manufacturing centres.
22. Completion of audits across site and manufacturing centres in line with required standards – e.g. weekly, monthly, annually. Includes EFK, CCP audits.
23. Completion and coordination of sampling and testing in line with schedules – including micro/allergen/vegan swabbing, raw materials, TUL sampling.
24. Calibration of technical equipment in line with required schedules.
25. Support with Technical led internal and external audits.
26. Support with traceability exercises when required.
27. Distribution of audit non-conformances to action owners.
28. Support Technical Lead activities in absence.
What we need from you:
Essential:
29. Basic understanding of Quality & Food Safety in a food manufacturing environment.
30. Basic understanding of GMP
31. Understanding of IT and office systems
32. Self-motivated
Desirable:
33. Food Hygiene Level 2
34. Pest control training
35. HACCP level 2
36. Internal audit training
37. Good working knowledge of IT based systems
