We are looking for an outstanding musician to provide dynamic and innovative teaching in guitar at Benenden School.
In our stunning new purpose-built music facilities, you will be able to teach a variety of guitar styles to a high level, showing initiative and working collaboratively to the benefit of the department and the School.
The school offers students the opportunity to take grade exams in the department every term, and we would be interested in discussing ways that this could be made more relevant to guitarists in the future. Therefore, there will be scope and support for you to develop the role according to your interests and specialisms.
You will possess experience of teaching secondary age students of varied ability, along with experience of entering and preparing students for practical exams, such as ABRSM classical and Trinity Rock & Pop assessments. You will also demonstrate the ability to play from and teach staff notation, tab and chord symbols.
About the Music Department
The School opened its new purpose-built Music and Concert Hall in June 2022 and all band rooms are equipped with drum kits, well maintained school guitars and new amplifiers. There are also excellent facilities for recording available.
