Role Purpose / Summary
Part of R&D, Large Molecule Discovery is accountable for the discovery of antibodies and other protein-based therapeutics. We work across different therapeutic areas from oncology to autoimmunity and infectious diseases. Within Large Molecule Discovery, the Developability team assesses our molecules using a range of biophysical methods to determine their physical characteristics and stability.
We are looking to hire an analytical scientist to characterise our molecules using a range of chromatography- and spectroscopy-based methods. The successful candidate will characterise large panels of protein-based lead molecules, either monoclonal antibodies or more complex formats such as bispecifics, perform the data analysis and interpretation, record the outcomes in electronic lab notebooks and communicate these to project teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan, design, and execute experiments to characterise proteins using biophysical methods, such as SEC, DLS, and DSF.
2. Communicate experimental outcomes to non-experts on multi-disciplinary project teams.
3. Keep high quality electronic lab notebooks.
Key Skills / Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
* PhD or equivalent experience in chemical or biological sciences.
* Demonstrated, hands-on experience characterising proteins using biophysical methods including SEC, DLS, and DSF.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in working with automated liquid handlers.
* Familiarity with antibody drug discovery processes.
* Experience characterising protein-protein interactions using surface plasmon resonance.
All profiles will be reviewed against the required skills and experience. Due to the high number of applications, we will only be able to respond to successful applicants in the first instance. We thank you for your interest and the time taken to apply!
